Poem a Day: Leaving

A poem a day by KarlettaA

I will be posting a series of poems this week!

This poem is about feeling that someone has gone from my life, even while they are in the next room.

I hope you enjoy the ride,
Karletta.

Leaving

I want to stay
But I need to leave
I must disappear
From this room
This house.

As he moves about
Organising.
I feel his loss
I am yearning
To feel his breath

I will have to go
Be separate.
Walk alone.
Imagination
Running wild.
I will be lost.

He is gone already
Even while
He’s in the next room.
